Southwark Lancers are a new Rugby Union club based in the heart of London. We were founded in 2008 and played our first season as part of the Kent Metropolitan Merit League last year. Our aim is to provide an exciting standard of rugby in Central London and bring rugby to an Inner London area.
In this coming season we are hoping to run two teams, again the Kent Metropolitan Merit Leg, as a precursor to the aim of entering the RFU national leagues proper. Our ground are located in Burgess Park, Southwark (SE5) and have two full size pitches, modern changing facilities and access to a floodlit all weather training surface. The club also enjoys a healthy social side, with regular events for all tastes.
Southwark Lancers are closely affiliated to Southwark Tigers RFC, the first inner city rugby club in England. We aim to provide the graduates of this fantastic junior club with the opportunity to enjoy adult rugby on their doorstep. We warmly welcome rugby players of all standards to come and be a part of South Lancers’ exciting and bright future.
