Southwark Lancers train every Monday and Wednesday night at Burgess Park from 7pm till 9pm. The sessions are taken by our coach Niall and all are welcome. For those who do not pay their club subscription up front or are non-members we simply ask for a £2 contribution to cover the cost of paying our coach. As a rule Wednesday is the main club training and Monday is a lighter morte skills orientated session to recover from the weekend.
We share our training facilities with Southbank Univeristy Rugby Club. This season we have mobile flood lights for our grass pitch and we will retain the use of the 3rd generation rubber crumb astro turf so that we can use it for fitness/backs practice and more generally when their is adverse weather.
The location of the ground is detailed below, a number of buses run to the ground and it is approximately a 20 minute walk from the Elephant and Castle tube station.

I was hoping to come along to training on Monday the 14th – Having had a quick read through the website I was wondering if newcomers would be welcome as the season’s pretty much started and also was wondering if there’s a casual-ish 15 as would not wish to let people down with limited availability.

All are welcome, we are running two teams this season and the 2nd 15 will be a bit more relaxed. Come along to training on Monday.

I have just started playing rugby at my university and am also looking for a local team to join. My uni training sessions are on Monday evenings so I would not be able to make it on this day; I was wondering if you had training on any other days?
